The Wyoming Infrastructure Authority was created in June, 2004 by the state legislature, tasked with diversifying and growing the state’s economy through the development of electric transmission infrastructure.  The Authority is responsible for planning, financing, building, maintaining and operating interstate electric transmission and related facilities.

In the 2006 session the legislature expanded the Authority’s role to become directly involved in financing and promoting advanced coal technologies related to electric generation.  The Authority will be seeking partnerships to demonstrate the commercial viability of advanced coal technologies.
